What a free check-up covers
- Where client data lives, and who can reach it
- Multi-factor authentication on email, tax software, and portals
- Backups, encryption, and device security
- Your written information security plan (WISP)
- How staff use AI tools with client information
One partner for IT, security, and compliance
Accounting firms hold some of the most sensitive data there is: Social Security numbers, bank details, and full financial pictures. Your IT should be built around that.
Cybersecurity for CPA firms
MFA, email protection, encrypted devices, backups, and monitoring, mapped to IRS Publication 4557 and the FTC Safeguards Rule.
Security services →WISP & Safeguards Rule
We help you write, put in place, and keep up a written information security plan that fits how your firm actually works.
WISP help →AI training for your team
Practical workshops on using AI assistants productively without exposing client data. Clear firm policy included.
AI training →Managed IT & help desk
Day-to-day support for your people, computers, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, accounting software, printers, scanners, and network.
Managed IT →Security is now part of practice management
The FTC Safeguards Rule requires tax and accounting firms to keep a written information security program, use multi-factor authentication, encrypt customer information, and train staff. The IRS asks preparers to acknowledge the written plan requirement on the PTIN application and renewal.
Most small firms are not short on effort. They are short on time and a clear plan. That is where we come in.
The IRS “Security Six”
The IRS and Security Summit partners point tax pros to six basics. We set up and manage all of them:
- Anti-virus software
- Firewalls
- Multi-factor authentication
- Backup software or services
- Drive encryption
- Virtual private network (VPN)

Common questions
Who do you work with?
CPA firms, enrolled agents, tax preparers, and bookkeeping and accounting offices, usually with 1 to 50 people. We support offices across the Denver metro and Front Range, and firms anywhere in Colorado remotely.
Do tax preparers really need a written security plan?
Yes. Under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the FTC treats tax preparers as financial institutions, and its Safeguards Rule requires a written information security program. The IRS PTIN application and renewal (Form W-12) also asks preparers to acknowledge that requirement.
Can you work with our existing IT person or software vendors?
Yes. We can take over day-to-day IT, or support an in-house person or outside vendor on the pieces they would rather hand off, such as security, the WISP, or training.
How does pricing work?
We offer flat monthly plans sized to your firm, plus project work. We quote after a free check-up, once we know your people, devices, and software.
Is the check-up really free?
Yes. It is a no-obligation review of how your firm protects client data today, with a short list of recommended next steps.
